Cash-for-Vote: BJP MPs to file Formal Complaint with LS Speaker

The "cash-for-vote" scam has taken a dramatic turn with LS Speaker Somnath Chatterjee asking the BJP MPs to lodge a formal complaint. The MPs Ashok Argal, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Bhagora will file a complaint with the Speaker later today. They have alleged that Samajwadi Party functionaries had offered bribe to them for cross-voting during the trust vote.

During the trust motion debate, the MPs showed cash worth Rs. 1 crore inside the house, which was allegedly given to them by Samajwadi Party. The MPs have taken the names of SP leaders Amar Singh, Rewati Raman Singh and Congress leader Ahmed Patel. CNN-IBN, which made a sting operation during the money transfer, decided not to telecast the tape, but handed it over to the LS Speaker for further investigation. The video tapes have been kept in safe custody of the Lok Sabha Secretary-General.
