Cash-for-Vote Scam: LS Speaker forms Seven-member Committee
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee set up a seven-member committee to investigate the cash-for-vote scandal. The decision was taken after three BJP MPs filed a formal complaint to the Speaker that Samajwadi Party functionaries bribed them to vote for the UPA government during the trust vote. They named SP leader Amar Singh and Congress leader Ahmed Patel in their complaint.The committee would be headed by C. Kishore Chandra Dev, who also heads the house privileges committee. The committee will submit its report by August 11.
