Star Voice of India 2007 Winner, Ishmeet Singh died of drowning in Maldives
Breaking News! Ishmeet Singh, winner of Star Voice of India 2007, died of drowning in Maldives. He had gone to Maldives this morning to participate in a music show on August 1. Ishmeet was from Ludhiana. According to reports, Ishmeet drowned in a swimming pool while having fun with his friends.Ishmeet Singh won many hearts in India and abroad for his great singing skills. After being crowned the winner of Star Voice of India on November 24, 2007, he was handed over the trophy by legendary Lata Mangeshkar. The entire country plunged into grief and sadness at Ishmeet's untimely death.

Every living being which has taken birth in this world will die one day. From the time of our birth, we all can die at any moment. Some will die in their childhood, some in adulthood and other in old age. In nutshell, we all have to die and we cannot run from this reality. Though, nobody can predict or plan his time of death because it is out of our control, still we can very well control and manage whatever life available with us.
Mostly, people who die early are believed as unfortunate ones while people who die in old age are believed as fortunate ones. However, I believe those people more fortunate who live their lives fully and completely even though they may die at any age or early. Here we can give the example of Swami Vivekananda, he died in his adulthood, and however, despite his short life he created so much meaning for his life which many people fail in making even after living for years.
I only want to convey that it is more important to understand the importance of our life and start living with enthusiasm before death knocks at our door and take life away from us. Every second of our life is full of profound bless of God, we are only required seeing this great truth. Only by worrying about death, we cannot achieve anything in life; however, we will only loss our essential time and energy. God has made death for showing us the importance of life, so that we can understand that God has given us great medium to understand and enjoy this world.
If we learn to live every second of our life then we learn to live a proper life, now while living this life even if death come suddenly to us then we will not have any complain towards God and life. If we choose to live like ants and remain concerned only about earning livelihood then we can never escape from the fear of death because we are not living our true life or neither enjoying this life. By accepting truth of death, we can easily make our lives more fulfilling and rewarding or by ignoring this fact we can make our life hell.

This is really very shocking. my 6 year old son is a fan of ishmeet and he was so upset when ishmeet did not come on the sets of voice of india 2. this is terrible news...where were the lifeguards when ishmeet was in the pool and what were his friends doing at that time?
I am from the Maldives.We are are so sad to hear the unfortunate death of Ishmeet who was not only a very good singer but a wonderful person as well.Since some of you are questioning about the safety in the resorts etcc let me give you more information.He died in the swimming pool of Dhonveli Beach resort around 5.25 pm.WHen he died he had his friends and co participants of star voice of India Harshit,Abhaas and another girl who was also a participant with him in the pool.Apparently none of them knew how to swim and the resort management and life guards cautioned them to use the shallow pool and not to go to the deep pool.SO they swam in the shallow pool for some and all of a sudden Ishmeet decided to go to the deep pool and almost immediately he drowned and his friends who went to his rescue too drowned .The other three are now admitted in hospital and getting treatment but Ishmeet was brought dead on arrival at the hospital emergency.
Very unfortunate but the young singers never listened to the advice of the resort authorities.
So I advice all the young and other readers who read this to use maximum caution and get all the information as well as listen to the experts at their travel destination on safety measures when they travel.This may prevent many more similar tragedies in the future.We in the Maldives send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends and pray that they get enough strength to cope with this.

Voice of India TV star Ishmeet Singh died yesterday in a swimming pool at Dhonveli Beach and Spa Resort. The 18 year old singer arrived in Maldives yesterday morning to take part in a Star Voice of Maldives scheduled for August 1.
Local media in reference to resort management reports that Ishmeet was unable to swim but had gone in to the deep end of the swimming pool at the resort and consequently drowned to death. He was with his friends at the time. The incident occurred between 1715 and 1720 yesterday evening. Ishmeet was taken by a resort launch to ADK hospital in Male' after several unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him by the resident doctor.
However eyewitness has told Miadhu Daily that Ishmeel had hit head on the pool when he dived in to the pool. Further they claim that drowning may not be the cause of the death as it highly likely that Ishmeet may have suffered head injuries resulting in the unfortunate accident. Eyewitness also confirms that Ishmeet knew how to swim. Police have begun their investigations and are now questioning the witnesses.
Next Group, the Maldivian organizers of the Star Voice of Maldives scheduled for the week end, in which Ishmeet was to perform, has not made any official comment on the matter.
Further, sources say arrangements are underway to airlift Ishmeet’s body back to India. Ishmeet was a rising star in Indian music industry. He won the Amul Star Voice of India's famous title last year.
