Jailed MPs create ruckus in Lok Sabha

The jailbirds Pappu Yadav and Shahbuddin from RJD created a ruckus in Lok Sabha while responding to BJP's allegations of horse-trading and poaching of its members. The jailed MPs who were brought to Lok Sabha to vote in favour of the government, alleged that they were approached by the BJP. That led to a pandemonium in the house and the Speaker had to adjourn it till 12.45 AM.

Poaching and horse trading of MPs reached a new "high" in the Indian parliamentary democracy with parties going all out to muster support in their favour. Even though Amar Singh has accused that six SP MPs have been kidnapped, the clear winner seems to be the UPA, as it has succeeded in creating major rift within the opposition parties.

According to reports, the UPA has managed to rope in MPs in BJP, Shiv Sena, JD(U), BJD and SAD. These MPs may either vote for the government or abstain from voting. Either way, it's win-win situation for PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and his cabinet. Meanwhile, the LS Speaker has granted leave to 6 MPs to abstain from voting on health grounds. Most of these MPs are believed to be from NDA.
