Left: UPA Govt. outsourcing India's Diplomatic Process to US

After supporting the UPA government for more than four years, the Left has become a bitter critic of the government on Indo-US nuclear deal. During the trust vote in Lok Sabha, CPI (M)MP Mohd. Salim lashed out at the government for its "betrayal" and said that Left always supported the government on a Common Minimum Programme, which was ultimately surrendered to US President George Bush.

Mr. Salim alleged that UPA government has outsourced India's diplomatic process to the American government and it has resorted to every dirty tricks to survive the trust vote and sign the Indo-US nuclear deal. He went on to the extent accusing the PM of being a dealer and not a leader who was only concerned about the nuclear deal with the US.

Mohd. Salim noted that leading scientists of the country had asked the Prime Minister not to proceed with the deal. He urged the PM and UPA members to have trust the people of India, not US President George Bush. It's time to become self-reliant, not to become dependent on America, he said.
