Mayawati takes on CBI and Congress

Two days after the CBI moved the Supreme Court against UP CM Mayawati in the disproportionate asset case, Mayawati held a press conference to lash out at the CBI and the Congress Party for pursuing a "political vendetta" against her. Mayawati alleged that Congress is using the CBI to target her at the behest of its new political ally Samajwadi Party, which has been BSP's arch rival over the years.

The BSP Supremo targeted CBI Director Vijay Shankar, accusing him playing into the hands of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. He even alleged that CBI Director has been visiting a senior SP leader ever since the SP formed alliance with the Congress. Mayawati also lambasted the "political deal" between Samjawadi Party and the Congress.
