Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza crowned Miss Universe 2008

Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza has been crowned Miss Universe 2008 at Nha Trang, Vietnam. The contest went into trouble yet again, as the Miss USA Crystle Stewart fell down during the evening gown competition. During the last year's event, Miss USA Rachel Smith also fell down during the gown competition.

The 22-year old Mendoza is 5 feet 10 inch tall and looks gorgeous because of her long legs. According to reports from Venezuela, she was once kidnapped in her home country. Taliana Vargas from Colombia, won the First Runners-Up title, while Marianne Cruz Gonzalez from Dominican Republic won the Second Runners-Up title. The other finalists were Vera Krasova from Russia and Elisa Najera from Mexico.
