Supratim Dutta - impaled by Iron Angle, had a miraculous escape from death
The driver of the car lost control and hit the Metro barricades on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road in Delhi. The impact was such that a five-feet-long and 2 inches wide iron angle pierced through the bonnet, then the dashboard and impaled Supratim. But Supratim did not lose hope. He called his mother, cousin and colleagues on mobile phone to inform them about his accident. His colleague Saurabh Aggarwal was the first to reach the spot. He, with the help of other people, managed to cut the rod and rushed Supratim to AIIMS Trauma Centre.
By God's grace, Supratim Dutta's spine was not damaged and his body movements remain intact. The doctors do not see any further danger to his life although they did not rule out infection. The surgery was rarest of rare, as the object was not sharp and it was pierced through the chest. It was Supratim's will power, God's blessings and Doctors' efforts that gave him a new lease of life. Death is finally beaten........

Its an irony that a young man was suffering his life and people around were shamelessly taking snaps and recording clips. This youth had to call his family HIMSELF. Shame on this civilization! People in this part of the world are living like animals. infact animals would fare better! I can not think of any other society better fit for inhilation than ours. Its a shame indeed.
I am personally moved by the gesture of this youth. His guts are worth the salute of the billion up on their feets.
The whole of media is talking about Supratim’s guts and the silly one liners like “Jeet gai zindagi, haar gai maut!”
Guess what? If a person, in this country, who owns a car and kills a cock under his car by accident, the whole country goes on a rampage and will settle for nothing less than the head of the poor car owner. How come absolutely NO ONE is even bothered to ask the question “Where in the name of god is the driver of the car?” Why is his negligent driving not questioned? Why is on one asking for his head? Or is it that the so called “poor” are the first childern of this country and people who have struggled their lives out to reach the stature of owning a car are all goons and step childern of India?
I totally agree with you. It's really a shameful thing that this person was going through such trauma and people around him were just busy taking snaps,...least bothered about his life.I mean, how can you just leave a victim like that and watch him die in front of you. Its a shame indeed.I have only one word to describe these citizens...."UNCIVILIZED"
Manoj/Biswa, Instead of blaming the whole civilization in boiled passion why cant you talk practicaaly?..tell me how many of them could really have done something of meaning..dear it is sheer lack of knowledge of crisis management..how aware was supratim himself about saving a emergency situation call number in his mobile set. Was the crowd knowing about this funda so that anyone from the crowd could have called that emergency number had he not been conscious .how many schools & colleges in india teaching about facing and managing in these situations..tell me how much you are preapred to react if an earthquack strokes or communal voilence breaks out in your vicinity..learning crisis mangement is the need of time, believe me this enables you to tackle the situation wisely and in life -saving way,you will be holding nerves, become leader to lead others in decision making,so dear guys think it twice, and go get trained, save me,urself, family and nation.
good luck
Vinay
