UPA Government to seek Vote of Confidence on July 22

The UPA Government has decided to seek the vote of confidence or trust vote in the Lok Sabha on July 22. A special two-session of the Lok Sabha will be called in July 21-22. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting today, which was presided over by the Prime Minister. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) also endorsed the government's decision to seek a vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, the Congress-led UPA received a huge boost, as Mehbooba Mufti's PDP, JMM and Muslim League have extended support to the UPA government at the Centre. PDP's support was unexpected, as it recently pulled down the Congress government in Jammu & Kashmir. The UPA sources claimed that they had the support of 290 MPs in the Lok Sabha.
