All-Party meet ends in Jammu, Shivraj Patil urges for Communal Harmony
The crucial all-party meet on Amarnath land tranfer row, ended a few minutes ago. Addressing a press conference, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil urged the people to maintain communal harmony. The home minister said that decision on Amarnath land would be taken later, but priority will be given to restore communal harmony in the valley.The parties decided that Amarnath land issue should be acceptable to people of both Jammu and Srinagar. Mr. Shivraj Patil stressed on the need for a peaceful solution to end the impasse over Amarnath land transfer. He also announced compensation packages for victims who were killed in Jammu violence. In addition, the fruit-growers who had to bear heavy losses due to the economic blockade of Kashmir, will receive due compensation.
