Golden Boy Abhinav Bindra meets President, PM and Vice President

Abhinav Bindra - The Hero, who returned home last night, met President Dr. Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhawan. President Patil showed motherly affection to Bindra while presenting a memento to him. She also held the gold medal won by Bindra at Beijing Olympics 2008. After meeting President Pratibha Patil, Bindra said, "I felt overwhelmed".

After meeting the President, Abhinav Bindra met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Sports Minister MS Gill and Vice President Hamid Ansari. He is scheduled to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and some other dignitaries later today. Bindra's father and mother accompanied him at all places. Bindra, who is a MBA graduate, is also the CEO of Abhinav Futuristics, run by his family. According to his coach, his parents have spent Rs. 10 crore so far on his coaching and equipments.

Later, Abhinav Bindra held a press conference to address the media. He looked calm and composed even though he has not been able to sleep for five days. He thanked everyone including his family, coaches and people of India. "My gold medal belongs to everyone in India", said Bindra. "I never expected such a grand welcome", he admitted.
