Live from Beijing Olympics: Archer Mangal Singh Champia crashes out
After Saina Nehwal's loss in the quarterfinal, India received another bad news, as Indian Archer Mangal Singh Champia crashed out of Beijing Olympics. Champia lost to B Badenov of Russia in the men's individual archery pre-quarterfinals. He lost by a narow margin on 108-109.
Earlier, Champia had beaten Vaezi Hojjatolah of Iran with a convincing margin of 112-98. Mangal Singh Champia's loss came as a great shock for the Indian contingent, as he had finished second in the ranking round. Rower Bajrang Lal Takhar crashed out in the semifinals of men's single sculls event. He finished fifth.
