Musharraf addresses the Nation, plays Kashmir Card

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, who is under fire from the opposition parties, has yet again chosen 'Kashmir' for his survival. While addressing the nation on the eve of Independence Day, Musharraf condemned the alleged "human right violation" in Kashmir and expressed concern over the development.

In order to win the support of Kashimiri people, Musharraf said Kashmir beats in the heart of Pakistanis. He demanded immediate halt to violence in Kashmir and vowed to raise the issue in the United Nations. "Every Pakistani is with our brothers and sisters in Kashmir", said Musharraf.

Musharraf's outburst against India and intervention in Kashmir issue, may derail the ongoing peace process between both countries. Earlier, Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi described the police action in Jammu and Kashmir as the "excessive and unwarranted use of force" and urged India to stop the violence in Kashmir.
