UP Government recommends CBI Probe into Fake Currency Racket in Dumariyaganj
Even as RBI authorities kept checking the currency notes in SBI's Dumariyaganj branch in Siddharthnagar, Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government has recommended a CBI probe into the fake currency racket that shocked the entire nation. Fake currency notes worth over Rs 1.40 crore were recovered so far from the currency chest of SBI, Dumariaganj branch. Cashier Sudhakar Tripathi has already been arrested by the Special Task Force.The currency chest contains currency notes worth Rs. 184 crore. The counting of notes are still on by the RBI officials. Several other banks are reportedly involved in the racket. the SIT has been launched a crackdown both in India and Nepal to bust the racket.
