VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati killed in Kandhamal, Orissa
The suspected assailants or "Maoists" equipped with grenades and guns attacked the Ashram at 9 PM and fired shots lobbed grenades indiscriminately. The limited police staff at the Ashram could not counter them. According to eye-witness sources, over 100 people attacked the Ashram. Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati has been working against alleged forcible conversion by Christian missionaries and cow-slaughter. He had survived a murderous attempt on his life in December 2007. His disciples were also attacked by the Christian goons in the past.
Kandhamal district had seen a communal flare up several times in the past. Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was always on hit list of anti-social elements and Maoists who were accused of triggering the communal riots in Kandhamal sometimes ago. Ironically, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati had received a threatening letter 24 hours before his death. The letter threatened to eliminate him if he did not stop working against Christian missionaries.
A high alert has been issued across Orissa. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other leaders have condemned the attack and appealed the people for calm and restraint. Security forces have been rushed to Kandhamal to maintain law and order and prevent a communal flare up. The incident sent shock wave in Kandhamal and other parts of Orissa. Meanwhile the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has condemned the attack and called for a 12-hour Orissa Bandh on Monday. Read more on Breaking News Online.

the coward people responsible for the murder sd be cought @hanged.the admnistration should shoulder the responsibility,as it was evident from the past attack on swamiji.
Killing Man in the neme of religion is inhuman. If christian missionaries have joined hands with Maoists to kill a religious prophet like Laxmanananda those particular Missionaries do not know the basic principles of christianism. Lord Jesus Christ will never approve it. Hope the whole christianity will condemn this activity. Religion is basically one and that is human religion. Peace and brotherhood must be preached not violence and attrocity. Hinduism is an age old repository of Human religion. It should be protected for the interest of the world religion. Hinduism that preserves the vedas and Upandishads will go on shedding light in the path of moral, spiritual and religios pursuits. I condemn this activity as brutal, I request the CM of the State to take serve action on the issue and try his best to root out violence in the name of religion in the area where a great saint who had dedicated his life for religious upgradateion was killed even inside the temple and before the people who had assembeled to worship the Lord Krishna there.

Maoist Terrorists and Christian Evangelists have joined hands together to kill and destroy Hindus and Hinduism. I guess Hindus don't have any protection in their own country. What a pity.
As long as Hindus respond only when a prominent figure dies, but don't stand together against secular-biased politicians who tend to support Muslims and Christians for terror and money - this could continue. Politicians don't care about Hindus, so does Hindus only care about prominent figures.
How dare you make accusations againt christians and start killing them ? BUDDHISTS, CHRISTIANS AND SIKHS WILL UNIFY INTO BRINGING INDIA INTO REAL LIGHT, not your petty false, dark gods. they are dying out fast.
Return to Buddha he was the 9th Incarnation. Your days of keeping dalit hindus in slavery is over.
I pray for the day when every last idol of Hinduism is smashed
If you kill Christians, their God is powerful and world wide, worshipped, He will bring calamity upon calamity on your orrisa
each time someone dies who is christian, super cyclones hit that state.
Judgment of the the true GOD is coming upon you
When Lord Jesus was crucified he said "Father forgive them". All of us need to follow his example. HE said "Love your enemies". He has shown by example and always wanted peace in this world
very true. This is a shameful act. If we call ourselves christians let us follow what Lord Jesus has taught us . HE said "love those who persecute you," We shall pray for those in trouble and comfort those in grief.
Killing the swami is an act to be condemned. but it is also good to know the circumstances which lead to his fatal exit. it was said that he was attacked in a particular place. And he and his followers would have taken action lawfully on those particular individuals. but instead what an havoc was caused to all the christians thoroughout the district, destroying their residencs, properties and disturbing the peace of the whole district and making the christians live in the refugee camps. is it not an act of injustice. is that what Gita teaches the humanity? his own intolerance towards the christians expressed through violence has lead to his fatal death. as gita says 'protect dharma and it will protect you'.
Is there any proofs like christians are behind this murder???? i dont think so.....NO Christain can dare to Kill anyone.
It really makes me sad to think that communalism still exists in our so called secular country.People just need a centimetre of reason to flare up their black actions. In the midst of all these commotions created by these group of unthinking people, the common men suffers.People are in a mad race just for winning..christians or the Hindus? The sad demise of Swamiji is being used as a torch to flare up the division between the people and we have forgotten that afterall we are all"Indians", and just not HINDUS OR CHRISTIANS.
Christians killed many scientists for telling the truth about heliocentric system which confronted their Church's view of Geocentric system.
Christians will do anything to spread Christianity and covert more and more people.
hi all christians,
hold your breath to keep peace in India. let's not retaliate the attacks by few fundamentalists. It’s our god who protects us and comfort us. So let’s wait for our lord Jesus Christ's answer. As by his word even wind stops moving.
So don’t worry, the vengeance is Christ’s and he make it true to show his power and presence in this mighty India. As we need the whole India to be a Christian nation lets tolerate. We are not much tortured than he was in the cross.
Lets pray and comfort other Christians. To make the whole nation under Christianity.
Peace with you all nation in India .If you kill people of living God which is written in Vedas
Hinduism's most ancient text, the 3000 to 4000 year old Rg Veda, contains a prophecy about a "Lamb which must be sacrificed for the sins of mankind- a Lamb without blemish"! The Vedic Literature shows us at least ten important features of the Prajapati-sacrifice which was are completely fulfilled in Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. The outstanding results of the vedic sacrifices are also present in the results of Christ's crucufixion.
The Vedas were written in Sanskrit, between the period 2000 and 1200 B.C. To the Hindus the Vedas are the sacred Scriptures and the final authority of their religion and philosophy. It is surprising to encounter the hidden Christ in the Vedas, the Purusa-prajapati (the Son of Man and the Lord of all) who gave Himself in sacrifice for the salvation of mankind. The Prajapati Sacrifice portrayed in the Vedas is literally fulfilled in the real Prajapati Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, such as sinlessness, the sepatation, the rejection, the silent suffering, trying to the sacrificial pillar, the shed blood, unbroken bones, returning to life. In the Vedas, the birth of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, and the good news of the gospel are revealed in the upanisads.
When the ancients wrote about the sacrifices for attaining Moksa (eternal life) and the sacrifice of Prajapati (Lord of All), they were quire unknowingly portraying the Lord Jesus Christ and His crucifixion as the way of salvation. Pursa or Jesus Christ.
CAME DOWN TO THE PLANET EARTH
A famous verse from the Kathopanisad describes the manifestation of god in a beautiful and powerful image. The Purusa-Prajapati from the Rg Vedic Purusasukta we can easily see the significance of the above verses in relation to the Asvattha tree or Vanaspathi. The tree came down to earth to give mankind eternal shelter through its sacrifice. (John 13:19) - The expresion, 'I am He' is very significant . He was saying that they would understand and believe that Jesus was the Man (the Purusa) about whom the sacred books have spoken. He was the "man of sorrows' who was despised and rejected by men.
THE CROWN OF THORNS
We read about the ceremony of this separation in the thirteenth kandha of the 'Sathapathabrahmana. Somethimes they set apart the sacrificial animal by a crown made out of a creeping plant of the forest. This seperated animal deserves no sympathy. It cannot be used for any other purpose. Once it is separated, it is separated for ever for the offering. This feature is also fulfilled in Jesus' sacrifice. Jesus was completely separated for the eternal sacrifice. John recorded his in John 19:2,5
THE REJECTION
Without the rejection, the third characteristic of the Prajapatisacrifice, the sacrifice would not have been preformed. First of all, this rejection happened in heaven in the Man's Sacrifice. In the Purusasukta when the devas sacrificed the Purusa, God the father was silent. We can find this feature in the animal sacrifice which is the second stage of the sacrifice. G.Suseelan makes referance to htis in the Itareya Brahmana in the context suggested by this translation: "The sacrificial animal should be rejected bt its father, mother, brother, sister and friends." The animal has to be completely abandoned and seperated for the sacrifice. This is exactly fulfilled in Jesus. St. John wrote about this (John1:11) The great Apostle Paul was rejected by his own people in this period of his life time. In this rejection we see one of the important aspects of the Prajapati-Sacrifice as well as its fulfillment. When we are forsaken by our friends and relatives we must not be dismayed. Remember, we are identifying with the Man (Pursa) who was rejected by his own people and who gave himself for us in the perfect sacrifice.
THE SILENT SUFFERER
Here, we see that Purusa-Prajapati silently gives himself in this great offering. The words of the Rg Veda describe so well the attitude of the Man: "like a horse I have yoked myself-well knowing to the pole. I seek neither release nor turning back." In the Vedas, the person who kills the sacrificial animal is called 'samitara which means silencer. His job is to make the animal calm. In order to make him calm he asks the animal to be quiet. We have references in the Taittiriya Samhita and in the Apastamba 'srutasutram. However, it is an important characteristic encountered in the Prajapati-Sacrificial. This is fulfilled in Jesus in its strictest sense. About 700 years before the Lord Jesus Christ, the Prophet isaiah predicted it.
CLOSE TO THE CROSS
In the sacrifice of the Man in the Purusasukta we see the Purusa is also tied to the sacrificial post. "Deva Yadyajnam tanvana abadnan purusam pasum" (The davas who performed this sacrifice tied Purusa, the sacrificial animal.) "yajnam yajnasadhanabhtan tan Purusam pasutvabhavanaya yupe baddham" Here the Purusa is pictured as the victim of sacrifice who is tied to the sacrificial post like an animal. In the Rg Veda, He yoked Himself to the pole like a horse. He sought neither release nor turning back. The cross was the sacrificial post of Jesus Christ.,
God is powerful and world wide, worshipped him and why all over the world is Jesus name is said worshipped, please don’t play with who believes in Jesus, He will bring calamity upon calamity on your orrisa and you all know about that each time someone dies who is christian, super thunderstorm or hit that state. It’s our God who protects us and comfort us. Jesus Christ's saves, heals By his stripes we were healed. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God...
As by his word thunder storm and waves stops moving.
"Volcano of Hindu Furry will erupt some times" :- now once again I remember these words written by a famous Christian journalist in Indian Express some times before regarding the Amarnath Agitation. It is the other religions duty to give atleast an equal consideration to hindus also, please verify my dear brothers in all other religions, that what is the benefit so called Hindus are getting in india other than their selves. Apart from that those religions , under the pretents of protecting from castism, they are converting hindus to their religion and treating them as second class person in their own religion. It is the only hidden agenda to destroy the strong heritage of our indian culture that gives birth to Ayurveda..like vedas, mahabharat like world classics, great temples for world no-1 architects and so on.... So if other religions stop conversions and do their own business no Hindu organisations will interfere in their matters and all together can structure the future of powerfull democratic India......
As a Christian of Orissa I condemn the killing of Swami Laxmananda. I appeal to all Christian people of India to follow true teaching of Christ Jesus. The basic priciple and essence of Bible is LOVE, PATIENCE and PRAYER. Lets follow these basic priciple and we can turn the world upside down. Faith moves a mountain. I appreciate the comment by Pandit Padmanav Tripathy.
Mr Anonymous Prajapati didn't have anything to do with Christ. Some Christian and Hindu scholars have come to the wrong conclusion that Christ in the Bible is Prajapati of the Vedas. Prajapati was killed by the gods for having incest with his own daughter. Christ was sinless.
I guess people who kill be it any religion them selves are sick in their head and this is in no doubt what is happening in Orissa. Just because one man laximmma dadaada died (God knows for better) did so many children, mothers, orphans have to be killed mercilessly. Some children did not even know what was happening. Hindus no doubt worship stones. They have proved it that they have stones in their hearts and their minds as sick as their snakes. Learn to live like people among people rather than religions for people. We all are born like one (no one is born differently)and we all die and leave this worldly desires some day. So STOP it now and think like human beings.
Hi everybody,
Ten thousand years ago there was a great civilisation in the banks of Indus river. It was called Indus valley civilisation. The people lived there were called as Dravidians. They were also called as Hindus (derived from the name Indus). they made Great cities like Harappa and Mohenjo Daro . There was NO CASTE system at that time.
Later Aryans also came there. It is the Ayans who brought the Vedas. Dravidians later spread out for some reason and their cities and culture was over taken by the aryan culture. In fact it became aryan + dravidian culture.
The Vedas were not just religious books. They included a total system. It was a great science. This science was divided into 2, mainly. The lower one and the higher one. The lower one included day to day routines and special routines for one's life and for the society. These were called pujas. Certain ENERGY POINTS points were invoked for this purpose. These energy points were called 'DEVAS'.
The higher science dealed with spirituality. It mentioned about the path to moksha or self realisation or God realisation. This Science is mentioned in the UPANISHADS. This is similar to the ONE GOD concept of other religions.
Then came the biggest tragedy-- 'THE CAST SYSTEM'. In earlier days the caste system was according to ones knowledge and work, not according to birth. Like doctors, engineers and lawyers, the people who studied the Vedas were called as Brahmins, those who learned the art of fighting were kshatriyas, those who learned about buisiness and did buisiness were vaishyas and the people who did physical work or labours were called as sudras.
So if a Sudra's son learned the vedas then he was called as a brahmin. Like if a peon's son studied M.B.B.S then he is called a Doctor.
Later the People with knowledge of Vedas ( Majority of them being Aryans) made the concept of 'CASTE BY BIRTH'. This was for their superiority . Even Hitler had this superiority theory. Changes were made to the scriptures for this purpose (the modern scholars agrees to this point).
Somebody there wrote that the Hindus are stone worshipers.
Actually, a true Hindu is not supposed to consider a stone as God. Please refer to the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda Volume 1 (and 2). The idol is kept for the purpose of concentration of mind and meditation. when its purpose is achived it has to be discarded and the follower has to proceed to the next stage. Please refer to Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda Volume 1 (and 2).
But what is happening now. If someone tell this in a temple publicly that 'this idol is not god and it is kept as a spiritual instrument which has to be discarded after achieving its purpose and one should go to the next level to attain self realisation', I am sure he will be tortured and killed there itself.
Someone told Hinduism should be preserved. Do you really think that the caste system should be preserved? do you think that the ignorance about the idols and ignorance about the upanishad's should be preserved?
Hinduism should be preserved. Yes, but in its true form, not in its corrupted form.
A religion is a system which frees man, not something which keeps man in ignorance. Low caste people are tortured in India. They are denied their rights even now up to a big extend.
First of all , I believe hindus should work together to avoid castism and consider all humans as same and thus purify Hinduism.
If the food of a restaurant is not good, obivously people will go to a second restaurant for food. There is no meaning in destroying the second restaurant and forcing people to have food from the first restaurant. The qualitty of the first restaurant should be improved. That is what we have to do.
Just think of the incidents (religious riots) that happened in India. How much loss we had and are having because of that. How this is happening?
People don't think. they just follow the orders of there political religious leaders. We have to stop this. we have to make people think. Their decisions should be taken by themselves based on the true knowledge.
This is possible only by educating them both spiritually and worldly. Otherwise India will be a bucnh of animals than humans.
For a crime there is LAW here. It should be dealt in that way, not by the method of animals. The criminals should be punished. Yes, they should be punished. But the law should punish them. That is what differentiate humans from animals.
So, let us stop doing what others are telling us. Let us do what that has to be done in the true way. The leaders tell only for their own benifit. What the priests, swami's, bishops or who ever it is, may be telling wrong. We have to think. We have to think and do what is good for our soul and for our country.
SO WAKE UP. DO THE RIGHT THING. ATTAIN TRUE KNOWLEDGE. SPREAD THE TRUE KNOWLEDGE. CULTIVATE LOVE. MAKE OUR NATION PROUD OF ITSELF.
JAIHIND.
Whoever go against life provided by the Unique and True God Jesus really don't know Him or his word. The assasins of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, or the people in revenge, should stop this greater sin, repent, and go forward de reconcilliation in the name of Jesus.
God will trully judge the sinners. Look for the True.
