Bomb Blast in Mehrauli in Delhi; 1 dead, 17 injured

Breaking News! Terror strikes Delhi again. This time the target was Mehrauli, South Delhi. Two people, riding on a Pulsar bike, hurled a tiffin bomb at Jahaj Mahal flower market near Andheria Mod, New Delhi. The market is located near Aulia Masjid and is known as Phoolwalon ki Sairwala Market.

At least one person was killed and 17 others injured in the blast. A 13-year-old boy Sathosh died on the spot when he picked up the polythene thrown by the terrorists and tried to give it back to them, assuming it was drooped accidentally. Three women and three children are among the injured. The injured have been rushed to AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital. Seven of the injured are reportedly critical. the blast occurred at 2.05 PM.

Security personnel and the bomb disposal squad have been rushed to the spot. Security forces have cordoned off the area. The police have urged the people to maintain calm and peace. BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra was among the first few leaders to visit the blast site. Delhi CM Shiela Disxit announced a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh to the family of the dead and Rs. 50,000 each to the injured.

High alert has been sounded in Delhi and its neighbouring areas. The police are questioning the eye-witnesses. According to latest reports, the bikers have been identified by a couple. The bikers were in the age group of 22-25. They wore black trousers and T-shirts. The motorcycle used by the terrorists had a Delhi number. The used crude bombs that contained Ammonium Nitrate. The Delhi police have detained two persons near Kapashera border for questioning.
