Chinese Milk Scare: 11 Countries stop Dairy import from China
Breaking News! The milk scandal in China triggered fears across Asia, as 11 countries have decided to ban import of Chinese dairy products with immediate effect. The panic button was raised, when four children died and over 53,000 fell ill in China after they consumed tainted milk products. Major snacks, cookies and chocolate maker companies are affected by the scandal.The countries that put a ban on Chinese dairy products are Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Brunei, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Burundi, Tanzania, Gabon and the Philippines. Other countries such as Canada and New Zealand are monitoring the Chinese dairy products. Japan and Thailand have put some Chinese milk products on the watchlist.
The Chinese government has taken stern action and arrested some traders who were involved in the toxic milk scandal. The authorities also fired top executives for failing to prevent the toxic milk scandal, which became a national shame.
