Raj vs Bachchans: The Last Lear's premier cancelled in Mumbai

Breaking News! The battle between MNS Chief Raj Thackeray and Amitabh Bachchan & family took an ugly turn, as producers of "The Last Lear" have cancelled the premier of the film, which was scheduled to be held tonight. The premier of "The Last Lear" was to be held in PVR, Juhu, Mumbai. According to sources, it had to be cancelled because of security threat from MNS workers. It is not clear whether the premier will be held in any other state or will be delayed till the issue is resolved.

Earlier, Jaya Bachchan had apologised to Maharashtrians for her 'innocent" remarks during the music launch of "Drona", which triggered a major controversy. Both Shiv Sena and MNS had raised serious objections to her remarks and Raj Thackeray went a step further by calling for a ban on all films acted by Amitabh Bachchan and his family.

Amitabh Bachchan also apologised for the incident and assured the public they were not against Maharashtra and Mumbai. According to Amitabh, he spent 40 years of his life in Mumbai and can't even imagine of saying anything against Mumbai and Maharashtra. He is later expected to hold a press conference to put forward his views and make clarifications on the controversy.
