Hostages rescued from Taj Hotel, Terrorists holed up in Old Taj

Breaking News! According to Maharashtra DGP AN Roy, all hostages have been rescued from the Taj Hotel. The hostages were freed from Old Taj, while all guests at New Taj are safe. The terrorists are still holed up in Old Taj and commandos are trying to flush them out. Commando operation is going on at Oberoi Hotel.

Ironically, while the Mumbai police claimed that all hostages were rescued from Taj Hotel, MK Malhotra, Deputy Finance Secretry just called up News 24 TV Channel and said he and some others including a BSP MP are still trapped inside the Taj Hotel. He urged the security personnel to resuce them.

Meanwhile, at the Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Dr. Manmohan Singh to discuss the Mumbai terror attack, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil was reportedly pulled up by his cabinet colleagues. PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and BJP leader LK Advani are likely to reach Mumbai this afternoon.

According to News 24 TV Channel reports, the terrorists came from Karachi in the ship MV Alpha. the ship was reportedly laden with RDX and other explosives. The channel reported that there could be 12-15 terrorists and they were in the age group of 20-25. The boat allegedly used by the terrorists was seized by the police in Colaba.
