A Letter to Mr. Raj ThackerayGood Morning Mr. Raj Thackeray! Mumbai can smile again today, as all terrorists were gunned down and Hotel Trident Oberoi, Nariman House and Hotel Taj have been cleared. People of Mumbai, who have been living in panic and terror since Wednesday night, now can relax and get back to work.
I don't know where you were for the past 3/4 days, but I can assure you that you can come out of your hiding now and roam freely on the street of Mumbai. No, Mr. Thackeray, the credit does not go to you or MNS, who always talked about the pride of Marathi Manoos. MNS did not save Mumbai, it were our Army and NSG Commandos, who rescued Mumbai from these terrorists. If I am not wrong, Major S. Unnikrishnan (Originally from Bangalore and Officer from Bihar Regiment) and Commando Gajendra Singh (Dehradun) were not Marathi Manoos, still they sacrificed their lives for the safety of Mumbai.
Mr. Raj Thackeray, if you still believe that Mumbai was saved by any Marathi Manoos, think again. The Army and NSG Commandos were not Marathi Manoos only. They were from Bihar, UP, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, North East and all other parts of India. Still they fought for the people of Maharashtra, as they consider themselves as INDIANS.

Mr. Raj, Isn't it high time we abandon regionalism and join hands together to work for national integration and fight the biggest menace - terrorism together. They can't break us if we are united. Do we ever bring up whether Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is a Marathi or is he the pride and joy of every Indian? Does Dhoni being a North Indian endear him any less to Maharashtrians?

I don't care abt who has written this all but when saw this news and the post, thought to say something.
Raj Thakare has not uttered single word yet or not said that Mumbai is saved by Marathi manoos or else bla bla bla........
Everyone knows that Mumbai is the highest tax payer. Latest one is 41% of total tax paid by all states of India. Its economic capital of India, I will say.
It was obvious central government to take some action.
Now, talking about the commandos who died in this operation. no doubt, I am proud of them. I don't think that Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar and the other constables
who died, did not consider that they were Marathi Manoos. But as they are not alive, anybody will stand up and say anything. I don't care.
As I live in Mumbai, I better know the situation over here. Like me, all Mumbaikars except those who work at CST(Chatrapati Shivaji Terminals) are going regularly at their workplace.
Probably the person who has written this all stuff is not from Mumbai. And there are also lots of Marathi officers in Army. Please try to read history of Maratha Light Infantry.
The question is about the tax payers living in Mumbai who are paying for nothing.. I am said nothing because they are not getting anything for which they are paying.
I regularly travel in the local trains and I know the current situation very well.
If everyone will think atleast of his/her region, obviously the better effects will be on the country also.
Raj Thakare is thinking about Maharastra only to make it better than what it is now.
The people from North India should also think about their natives so that they will
also get developed.
I am an Indian. But I have born in Maharashtra and I am marathi. So I can't leave my emotions

Raj opens his mouth on attacks, praises Sonia, slams BJP
Mumbai, Nov 30: MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who was silent for the last three days, on Sunday criticised the BJP for "politicising" the Mumbai terror attacks and praised Congress President Sonia Gandhi for her restraint in the past in similar circumstances.
In an open letter to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Raj said, "The filthy politicising by L K Advani and Narendra Modi after the deaths of Marathi policemen in terror attacks shows that you have an opposition that only indulges in opportunism and exploitation of people's plight."
"This is not a time to indulge in politics. Against this backdrop, one must concede, despite political differences, that the restraint showed by Sonia Gandhi at the time of attack on the Parliament was really commendable," the MNS chief said.
Hitting out at Shiv Sena, Raj said, "Going by the inhuman and dirty writing about Karkare and his ATS in the mouthpiece of a main opposition party a few days before the attacks, it has become impossible for the police to work without fear and in objective manner."
Just before the attacks, 'Samaana' editorials had targeted Karkare and ATS for probe into the Malegaon blast case.
"But Karkare and other 13 brave Marathi policemen's martyrdom shows that terrorism is not Hindu or Muslim," Raj said.
"I urge you this is a time to govern ruthlessly. To clear out the encroaching migrants, to carry out combing without mercy," he said.

I understand your sentiments towards your state.
While all those years in Mumbai when I was doing my Architecture from there, not for a split second, did I ever feel that I am not standing in my mother land.
Mumbai definitely is the best city in India, but some how I have always felt and met people who feel more proud saying they are Indian, rather than saying they are Maharashtrians.
I am a North Indian by birth, but I have amazing friends who are Maharashtrians and even a Maharashtrian sister whom I love as much as any of you would love your sister.
I liked the way you started your message, talking about the jobs in Maharashtra and that how Maharashtrians are prevented from getting them due to your fellow countrymen from other states. But then you suddenly came up with mentioning North Indians as animals. I guess that was just frustration on your part so nobody should feel bad about it.
I am based in UK and apparently know a couple of Maharshtrians who think your way. All of them are here for a better life and for jobs which if they would not have taken up, would have gone to Britons or other people. When asked about this, they said it is not their problem and if the British people are not happy they should approach the Government and criticise them for their policy. I asked then how is that different with the North Indians working there in Mumbai. If Raj Thakerey is really an educated and a true discerning individual, doesn't he understand that beating up poor youths is not the right way to implement what he wants for the Maharashtrians? I asked those Maharashtrians here, what if they are beaten up at bus stops and railway staions for being from a third world nation and grabbing there jobs in UK? Not to my surprise, they could not answer to it.

- He beats up poor street vendors, who don’t even grab any Marathi jobs.

This subject matter was in the news paper for past few days, even during the episode was happening & all "Anti Maharashtra English/ Hindi News papers" & "Hindi new channels" were showing & talking about it shamelessly. I was surprised that even respectable news channel reporter like Ms Barkha Datt openly mentioned about this subject.
It is very unfortunate that we Maharashtrians & Marathi manoos will have to teach you history & reality.
Let us go to History first.
1) When whole India was under the rule of Mugals, the only force that was fighting against Mugals was Shvaji & his sena comprising lots of Marathi Manoos & that was Maharashtra. I hope, you know this history at least.
2) When British were ruling India, the few of the states like Maharashtra, Bengal, Punjab were leading this fight & you can yourself count how many Marathi Manoos contributed to freedom fight (please read your history book again from your children or grand children). My intention is not to disregard other states who were definitely part of the freedom struggle.
3) When V.K.Krishan Menon made a mess of our military against Chinese aggression, Panditji first thought of Maratha Name as Defence Minister Mr Yasahntrao Chavan a marathi manoos. ,
4) There is full Maratha regiment in our military. Chief of Military Gen Thorat, Gen Vaidya, Air force Chief Air Martial Tipnis to name few...........................

Let us come to Present & reality.
1) Dear Mr Pradeepji, you seems to be the Director General of NSG. You seems to have exact number & list of names of NSG. Let me correct you. There were 192 numbers in NSG (not 200). Two of the list were Mr Patil & Mr Nikhil Athavale were interviewed on the marathi Channel & were Marathi Manoos (there may be many more as I don't have the list & also I am not a Director General of NSG).
If you happen to claim that there were no marathi manoos in NSG, then we have one more argument that not only railway, nationalised banks, insurance & other Central Government Establishment, even in NSG, there is no place for marathi manoos. There is whole Maratha Regiment in Indian Military & even then there is no place for marathi manoos in NSG ?. You think that there is no capable marathi manoos for NSG ?
When you say ALL north Indian & south Indian names in NSG, don't you think that you are insulting Gujarathi, Rajastani, Orissa, Bangalis as I understand that you never care for Maharashtrians.
2) Before NSG arrived on the scene & started its operations, that was next day about noon, till then the Maharashtra police were fighting on the scene, all marathi manoos. You want names. ATS chief Late Mr Hamant Karakare, Late ACP Mr Ashok Kamte, Late encounter specialist Mr Vajay Salaskar, you want more names..........15 of them. All top cops. Dear Mr Pradeepji, "nam me kya rakha hei" all marathi manoos. You never thought "where were ACP L.K.Prasad (Mumbai kisike bapa ka nahi hai)?, where is Commissioner Anami Rai ? & many more anti Maharashtrian lobby in Maharashta Police ?.
3) Two terrorist who ran with Skoda were followed on mobike by police ASI(assistant sub inspector) Mr Tukaram Omble at Girgaon Chowpati. ASI Mr Kadam who was waiting to intercept skoda killed one driver terrorist Abu Ismail. The other terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab having AK 47 was firmly held by Mr Tukaram Omble from other side after arriving on mobike even though the terrorist was pumping bullets through his belly. Mr Kadam, Mr Omble were marathi manoos. Because of Mr Omble one terroist is caught alive. What a courage ? Mr Omble is no more but now this is the main lead for investigators to prove Pak hands.

1) Mr Raj Thakare is under gag order. He is not allowed to speak. He was made to speak for Chatt Puja on the request & permission of Mumbai Police. He did that as he was really not against Chatt Puja (he is Hindu & how can he be against any puja) but he was against political drama of UP & Biharis politicians (UP Bihar ye jakhi hai, Maharashtra abhi baki hai & such slogans).
You tie down a person with his hand & legs & ask him to speak ? This is another ploy. If Mr Raj speak, police (lobby) will held him under gag order & if he don't, people like you & Ms Barkha Datt will comment.
You never thought of asking where were Mr Abu Azmi with his 20,000 strong force from Azamgad ? (or it was only against fighting Maharashtrians ?) You never thought of asking where is Mr Krupashankar Singh with his UP & Bihari Force when he declared that if any attack comes on the borders of Maharashtra, he will be the first to fight with his UP & Biharis force. He was touring with Chief Minister Mr Vilasrao & showing off with news. Where is LALOO. Had it been if Railway Police were well equipped then more life's could have been saved.

I thank to all anonymous ppl, Shradhha, Sara, Ashutosh for taking these efforts to show that I am idiot, stupid. Some great person opened history book to show how Marathas are not brave and etc. For that anonymous person who wrote this, please read comment of Runa. I don’t want to write further more on the history. I know it very well.
And Sara I will pay you if you leave delhi and come back to Maharashtra to live in Mumbai. I am that rich. Travel regularly in locals from Dombivali to Andheri. Then I will talk with you. It is very easy to talk about Mumbai while sitting in Delhi.
What is the current condition of Mumbai? Where the migrants (who are coming daily) live in Mumbai? They live in slums. These slums are getting bigger day by day.
Sara, please come to Mumbai and just get into the suburbs like Kurla, and then tell me why I should not speak about the issue of migrants. It is very easy for criminals to hide in these places. Just see them. Some one said he/she is tax payer from Mumbai, I would like to ask you, are you really very happy with what you are getting after paying tax? Mumbai is not having enough space to accept these migrants. Mumbai is known as biggest slum in the world now. Are all of you Mumbaikars feeling proud of what Mumbai is known today?
Some one said that all ppl in the government, IAS, IPS, Railways are from UP and Bihar and Maharashtrians are not having quality to compete with them. Is it true? I also want answer of the question, why there are all Biharis and UP ppl there? Who is doing this? Why everyone wants his/her statesmen there? And if there is such a condition, why Bihar and UP are behind Maharashtra in case of development? If the IAS, IPS officers, ppl in government are from those places, still these states are not developed and are far away as compared with Maharashtra, why?
Just saying “I am Indian”, “I love my country” is not going to develop our country. These statements sound good in speeches only. If everybody will at-least start thinking about his/her own region at first then ultimately it is in favor of our country only. What is wrong in that? I am one Mumbaikar and I can’t see my city getting ruined. There is no enough space in Mumbai now for more migrants. I don’t want to talk about what politics Raj wants to do, but the questions which are raised by him are true.
I would like to suggest you, see the videos on youtube. Most likely all speeches of Raj are there, just see them. You know and you keep faith in what the news channels show to you. See all speeches of Raj on youtube and then talk to me.
If anyone calls me idiot for thinking about my own city, then I am happy with it.

I read many of the comments on this blog.
I want to spend some 20 cent of mine on this.
1:India is a country of states based on language spoken.
2:People live in Maharashtra are having great respect for their culture,language,heritage.
3:We,Marathi used to admire the nice things without considering the state,country it comes from.
4:But the things turn wrong when our own language,heritage are forced back to move towards secondary place in our own state.So I urgue all marathis to use Marathi as much as possible,keep bound with our culture,heritage,becase first u respect yourself,then only world respect s you.
5:I wonder y ppl r crying out on marathis.I want to point out some things which the so called Indians dont consider while considering this issue as whole.The people from southern states,Gujrat,Bengal have great respect for their culture,language.But no one from northen states dare to cry out on them...Then y on marathis.The country as whole cant be biased.
I dont think whts wrong there on marathi name plates all over maharashtra if the same things are follwed in most of the states which have their own mother tongue.Y the Railway complaint books dont have marathi as a language to file a complaint...
6:The issue raised by Raj is not wrong at all if we study all the points he made out in his speeches thourouly.
The points are

The officers who r on higher positons in Railways dont publish the job ads in local marathi newspapers even though the place for work is in maharashtra...These are published in only hindi/Englsih newspaers intenionaly.
The candidates from Bihar/U.P and all hindi states are prefered;No wonder the Railway ministry is properitery of Bihar/U.P. for years.
b:
Why people from Bihar/UP highly migrate, especialy people who are less educated.
Y these Govt fail to provide the basic needs.The ppl who migrate find Maharashtra as a safe,peaceful state compared to their JungleRaj state
Why dont anybody point out on Bihar/Up leaders for lack of their governance.
Why the poor people from these states r highly migrated.The migration is accpetd provided it is for higher opportunities,studies,work place etc.But for basic livehood its pathetic

Now the Chat Pooja..Raj opposed only to the implementation of it.The political parties especially Congress,Samajwadi Party,RJD use this holy occasion for their political concerns.We marathi also celebrate Ganesh Utsav all over India but does it have any political dimmensions associated with it.Why the so called Indians neglect the valid points raised by Raj.

Now the Mumbai issue..The people coming from UP/Bihar live in slums.the result is new slums r built.That also results in extra load on basic needs like water,power etc.How much ppl Mumbai can accomadate???.The political parties like congress,SP,RJD dont have any concern with mumbai becase they only consider to raise their slum vote bank.
Why the so called Indians dont find any need to think on it.

Guys,Maharashtra is really a peacefull state..After MNS agitaion in Maharashtra..The same things got reflected in Bihar where the Railway property were highly destroyed.But the so called Indians dint have any concerns on these destructions.Truly biased.

I heartly admire the brave NSG officers,jawans,Maharashtra police officers and constables,Hats off to all of them.Now i ask the question to so called indians y do u mix the dirty politics with it.
Did Raj have any contriverial statments on it.While facing any national security,calmity oncerns,We shd keep our dirty politics away from it.
When there were natural calmity in Bihar many doctors from Maharashtra rushed to the place only for humanity.They dint think of whether it is Bihar or Maharashtra.
Maharashtra is a land of braves.Many of our jawans are in armed forces,serving across all over india.They do their painfull job only to serve country and not Maharashtra..
Maharashtra has great heritage of braves like Chtrapati Shivaji,BajiRao Peshwe and many more.Many freedom fighters who are BAAP of National Freedom movements like Tilak,Sawarkar,Agarkar,Gokhle,Chafekar,Rajguru and many more.The great heritage of Maharashtra has many dimension like sports,music,media,social work etc.
So guys dont mess up the things by ur comments that come from nothing.
So I highly urgue to so called Indians that please think on the other side of the coin..Half knowledge is always dangerous.

It is very painful reading the very narrow views of all of you. Please remember what MNS is doing is politics and Marathi Manoos is a vote bank. MNS, Shiv Sena and all those using regionalism, caste, religion etc. as vote banks are very smart guys. I wonder why such similar acts and vandalism in NE is meted with brute military actions under AFSPA, NSA etc. Why is the government reluctant to outlaw these goons, pursue them and put all of them behind the bars.
