Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan to be cremated with State Honours

Breaking News! Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was killed while fighting the terrorists at Hotel Taj yesterday, will be cremated with full State Honours in Bangalore later today. Sandip died a martyr's death while trying to save his injured colleague. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was with the Indian Army, had gone on deputation to the NSG in January 2007. He was 31.

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's family were originaly from the Kozhikode district of Kerala, but they are settled in Yalahanka, Bangalore. His father is a retired employee of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Sandeep married just a year ago. He was employed with Bihar Regiment in the Army and had been with the 51 Special Action Group of the NSG on deputation.
