Moon Impact Probe lands on Moon, ISRO to send Chandrayaan-II in 2012

Breaking News! While the country is still celebrating the successful landing of Moon Impact Probe on the moon's surface with tri-colour painted on its sides, ISRO Chairman Madhavan Nair announced that India will send its second unmanned moon mission, Chandrayaan-II in 2012. India became the fourth country in the world to plant the national flag on Moon, when the Moon Impact Probe touched the lunar surface at 8.31 PM today.

Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who nurtured India's moon mission for decades, was present at the ISRO headquarters and greeted the scientists. Kalam termed the moon mission as 'national dream'. The Moon Impact Probe has already sent some images from the lunar surface. The ISRO is yet to release those pictures. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, President Pratibha Patil and other leaders and eminent persons have congratulated ISRO scientists and people of India on this huge success.
