Not Zardari or Gilani, General Kayani calls the shots in Pakistan
By Sagar SatapathyIf the world thinks that democracy prevails in Pakistan and President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani are leading the country, then you are living in a world of deception. Democracy in Pakistan? If Pakistanis call it democracy, they are living in denial. Democracy won't return to Pakistan unless the Pakistan Army comes under the direct control of a powerful government.
The recent terror attacks in Mumbai showed to the world about who call the shots in Pakistan. Neither President Zardari nor PM Gilani control Pakistan. It is Pakistani Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who is in complete control. Just after the terror attacks in Mumbai, Pakistan government agreed to send the ISI chief to India. But later, it backtracked after Kayani put pressure on the government.
When India stepped up diplomatic and military pressure on Pakistan, both Zardari and Gilani went on defensive. They were pressurized to act under pressure from India and the US. However, Kayani had something else in mind. He met both Zardari and Gilani and asked them to be firm on the stand against India. It could be recalled that General Kayani was a former ISI Chief. And, ISI has been actively supporting the terro organizations against India.
After meeting Zardari and Gilani, General Kayani thundered that Pakistan Army is ready for war and will respond within minutes if India launches an attack in Pakistani territory. That completed changed the mood in Pakistan. Kayani led the way and later Zardari and Gilani shed their defensive postures and warned India of dire consequences if it goes into war against Pakistan.
Both Zardari and Gilani are just mere puppets in the hands of Pakistani Army led by General Kayani. They say what Kayani ask them to do. Both leaders know that they won't survive even a single day in office if Kayani decides so. If the political establishment in Pakistan does not take a tough stand against Pakistan, Kayani will take over with the help of the Army and usher a military era in Pakistan. There is little doubt on this.
In the past couple of days, Pakistani leaders and officials have been roaring like tigers. They taunt India to declare war and see the consequences. The Pakistani Army and Air Force have moved their troops and aircrafts to forward locations. They are ready for war, not for action against terrorists.
Pakistan has rejected all evidences and proofs given by India. It just warns India to lay off or face dire consequences. According to reports, Taliban suicide squad and other terrorist organizations are ready to join Pakistani Army if a war breaks out. Honestly, the Indian leadership has been forced to go on defensive amid "war cry" in Pakistan.
Ironically, India seems to be in a dilemma on how to react to the latest development. The global community has been silent in the past seven days. It seems that they feel threatened by Pakistan's "war hysteria". They don't want India and Pakistan to go into war. India may not get the support it desired because of Pakistan's war cries.
India needs to think about its own safety and security rather than seeking the help of other countries. India needs to stand up and take the battle directly to Pakistan. If we wish to end the terror for once and all, we need to teach Pakistan a perfect lesson and force it to take action against terrorists or suffer badly. We should not allow Pakistan to take advantage of the situation and get away with its terror objective.

Nothing but poor indian minds, trying to change the evidence nw. No evidence and proof yet been provided about pakistan involvment in this poorly created mumbai Drama. Indians is now just washing its dirty linen in public. We Pakistanis are very much peace loving nation and know very well how to defend our homeland. Our message to the aggressors of all kinds is that
" Dont Mess with us, We have Nukes and every one must learn to accept this fact"
We as a whole Nation are unite with out Forces to follow the indian army upto bay of bengal in case of any misadventure.

Total BS by the author. Doesn't he knows there are 114 different separatist movements going on in his own country. India should take care of them first instead of blaming Pakistan for everything...
A military ruler, calling the shots in Pakistan and then Taliban extending its suicide bombers to Pakistani Army, prove that Pakistan is in wrong hands. The US and NATO must take control of Pakistan and restore true democracy there.

The constant contradictions in almost every statement coming out of Lahore these days do seem to suggest that neither Gilani nor Zardari have the final say in most matters. It wouldnt suprise me at all if Pervez Kayani is the main man now.
That being said, the Indian media seems caught up in a war hysteria that is completely unrepresented by public opinion. The common man wants peace, not another pointless war. Our journalists would do well to remind themselves to present facts and refrain from misleading the people with propoganda.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, and please pardon my borrowing a line from the 1st Clinton run, but it is indeed:
THE KASHMIR PROBLEM STUPID!
The sooner India, the world’s biggest democracy, shakes off it’s positive allergy to SERIOUSLY discussing this important issue (remember the DEMOCRATICALLY held Kashmiri plebisite?) the sooner the that WHOLE region and by extension, the West can feel safer. Our courageous Musharraf and his multi one-way unanswered gestures (how unfortunate) may have left the scene, but PLEASE understand this:

everything can be answered if our indian leader take decision. I know what is in kayani's mind but it can be answered in tit for tat condition. Indian leader should send their troops for helping U.S forces in Afghan-Pakistan Border( in that condition U.S.A 'll favour in war it is just a deal India'll cooperate U.S.A & Pakistan'll be ruined by Indian & U.S forces). With help of Russia china can be pressurised not to involve in this matter. Israil is also ready to capture & sabotase Pakistani Nuke facility (& they also trained their forces to do it in the past). India can declair Baluchistan & Pastunistan a separate nation to comedown Pakistani army's war hyteria. it is not time to fight directly it is time to turn their war in their own home. If it doesn't work india can change it's nuke doctrine "No first attack" & war should be become with first nuke strike. if india take the burden of some city's destruction definetly Pakistan'll no more.if they want war it should be last as Mr. Gilani said "till last blood" let make it real......

Pakis Defence Analyst ZAID HAMID is always saying in his talk shows that Pakistan will divide India in to 20 small pieces and they will use NUKES.
Do they realize INDIA is a NUCLEAR POWER TOO.. and they will destroy our one city by nukes and INDIA can destroy whole PAKISTAN in minutes...they r just 18 crores..
Swear to god NO WONDER WHY PAKISTAN CANNOT MAKE EVEN A NEEDLE IN THEIR COUNTRY.

Friends I guess there are few STRAY DOGS in all countries..in India its RAJ THAKREY and in Pakistan its ZAID HAMID.. so we should not take them seriously as they are case of mental breakdown.
