Birla Tyres shuts down Orissa Unit till January 31
Breaking News! The Birla Tyres, one of the leading tyre makers in the country, has shut down its Orissa unit till January 31, citing reasons of falling sales. The company clarified that employees won't be paid during the shutdown period. The plant is expected to resume production on February 1.
Currently, over 2,200 people are employed with the Birla Tyre plant in Orissa. The plant is located in the Balasore district of the state. The unit had shut down its production for 15 days in December too. The Orissa unit of Birla Tyres has a capacity of 1.50 million tyres, tubes and flaps per year.
