The Oil PSU officers went on a strike from Wednesday morning, demanding an immediate pay hike. They defined the orders from Delhi High Court. All units of ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and Gas Authority India Limited (GAIL) have been badly affected due to the strike. Some units have been completely shut down, resulting in a major crisis of petrol, diesel and gas in the country.
The Oil and Gas refineries in Gujarat have already stopped the production and supply. The government has decided to tough on the striking employees. At least 20 officers - 11 from the ONGC and three each from the IOC, BPCL and GAIL were suspended and two ONGC were arrested today. The Delhi government has invoked ESMA to deal with the striking employees. The Centre is closely monitoring the situation.

Situation like Strick is really bad for the Indian Economy in this span of time.
Oil sector is the sector where the impact of Global reccetion is less.
Government should listen immediatlly to the Employees Demand, because they are contributing to the Economy at present.
It is highly justified by the Employees Association of Oil PSU, becase they are not paid Enought as per the pay devision since 2007.
