Sanjay Dutt: Women should use Husbands' surname after Marriage
Breaking News! While attempting to take a dig on his sister Priya "Dutt", Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt created a flutter by asking all women to use husbands' surname after marriage and wanted them to give up the fathers' surname.In an interview to a newspaper, Sanjay Dutt said, "Women should not stick to their fathers' surname after marriage just for the sake of fashion. It will be a disrespect for their husbands if they do so. They must give up fathers' surname and adopt husbands' surname".
While Sanjay's comments were directed at Priya Dutt for not using her husband's surname after marriage, the women community may take this statement, as a degradation and disrespect to the womanhood. Sanjay Dutt also said that he would have felt bad had Manyata stuck to her father's surname after marrying him.

Sanjay dutt's comments that girls should not retain their father's surname is in very bad taste. He sounds like a typical male chauvinist when he says that he wouldn't have liked if his 'current' wife retained her father's surname.Whichever surname Priya dutt chooses, the fact remains that she will be a dutt always, in flesh and blood. Its nice that Mr. Sanjay dutt wants his family to accept his wife but this is not the way.In one remark, he has cut all their ties of about 25 years with the dutt family.I'd like to tell him that not all daughters retain their father's name because their father's were famous. It's an emotional decision most of the times where the daughter still wants to keep the bond alive.Being a man, he cannot understand what it is to lose your identity of 25 years and adopt a new one overnight. I think he should be ashamed and apologetic to his sisters about the harsh remarks he has made for those sisters who have stood by him all through his tough times and much before his 'new flavour' of the season entered the scene.His sisters have lead a more responsible life and upheld the values of his parents. Proves who's rightfully a dutt and who's not.
If the HA HA nourable lady MP does not want to be known as a (Owen) Roncon, it is indeed her business. She has every right to not emulate her mom Nargis who preferred to be a Dutt not a Rashid; or her big boss Sonia who prefers to be a Gandhi, not a Maino; or her dad's boss Indira who preferred to be Gandhi, not a Nehru; or her emerging boss Priyanka who is Vadra, not Gandhi. Last of all her bhabhi who preferred to be a Dutt, not Shaikh, even before she became so! At the same time, Priya was only asking for it when she chose to be a Cong broker to 'offer' a seat to Sanjay Dutt. It would have been wise to silently enjoy the goodies of being an MP, which is nothing more than a largese to her father, who was Cong minister.
Let the woman decide.
If the husband feels bad if the woman retains her maiden name, then the husband should just accept it. She is a individual and name is too petty to be bothered about, obviously unless you are a male chauvinist.
i had a great respect and love for sanjaidutt. The present comment on the surname issue shown he is a male chauvanist and shown disrespect to his role in his m-bai -l reho.let him tell his nayee beebi to get a pan card ,the authorities will tell whose name should be written and the reason behind it.
