55% Polling reported in Second Phase Elections

24/7 News Network: Barring a few incidents in Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, the second phase elections in 12 states, passed off peacefully. 55% polling was reported in 140 Lok Sabha seats in 12 states. Polling was held for the single seat in Manipur yesterday. Braving the scorching heat, people in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa voted in large number for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Andhra Pradesh reported 68% voter turnout, while Orissa recorded 61.4% polling during the second phase.

Repolling will be held in 146 polling booths in Bihar and 58 polling booths in Jharkhand on April 28. Here is the polling percentage in all states that went to polls today:

Karnataka - 55%, Goa - 55%, Andhra Pradesh - 68%, Tripura - 70-80%, Jammu & Kashmir - 46%, Uttar Pradesh - 44%, Bihar - 44%, Maharashtra - 56%, Assam - 62%, Orissa - 62%, Jharkhand - 47%, Madhya Pradesh - 45%.
