Shoe hurled at Congress MP Naveen Jindal at Kurukshetra

24/7 News Network: Breaking News! After Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, it's the turn of Congress MP Naveen Jindal to face the shoe attack. He got it from the public. A retired school teacher, Rajpal hurled shoe at Naveen Jindal during a meeting of Congress workers at Kurukshetra, Haryana. "I protest against the policies of the Congress Party", said Rajpal, while beingwhisked away by the police. Earlier on Wednesday, Chidambaram had to face a similar situation at a press conference in New Delhi. He was targeted by Dainik Jagran journalist Jarnail Singh.

The latest development created panic among the politicians. Although the shoe missed the target and did not hit Naveen Jindal, it raised question about the security in election rallies and meetings.

Naveen Jindal alleged that Rajpal was under the influence of alcohol. The retired teacher was first heckled by other Congress workers present at the meeting and then he was taken into police custody. Rajpal was upset over the sacking of his son from his job.
