Air India Employees call off strike, to get Salary on July 3

New Delhi: India's largest airlines, Air India, finally bowed to the pressure of its employees and decided to pay their June salary on July 3 without any cut. Air India had announced that the salary will be given on July 15. The AI employees have called off their planned strike after their demands were met with. Air Corp Employees' Union (ACEU) confirmed that the employees will get their salary on July 3 without any pay cut.

The Air India employees generally get their salary on the last day of the month. However, due to the global slowdown and declining revenues, Air India had decided to delay the June salary till July 15. The airlines had also asked the top executives to forgo their one month salary, which was rejected by the employees.

The Air India employees were to go on an indefinite strike from July 1, protesting against the delay in their salary. With their proposed strike is off, the government and the common passengers have taken a huge sigh of relief.
