Indian Soldier killed on LoC in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar: The relations between India and Pakistan deteriorated further, as an Indian soldier was killed in cross-border firing across the LoC in Jammu & Kashmir. The incidents occurred near the LoC, where both India and Pakistani armies have been observing ceasefire since July 2003. Pakistan has violated the ceasefire several times in the past also.

According to the Indian Army officials, the soldier was killed, while trying to foil a group of militants to infiltrate into the disputed territory of Kashmir. The militants were reportedly backed by the Pakistani Army.

This is clear violation of ceasefire by the Pakistani Army, said the Indian Army officials. The Army will review the situation and then get in touch with the Pakistani authorities.
