PCB sacks Pakistan Captain and Coach over Match-Fixing Allegations

Karachi: Breaking News! Pakistan cricket is in turmoil again after the loss to New Zealand in the semifinal of ICC Champions Trophy 2009. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sacked Captain Younus Khan and Coach Intikhab Alam over the match-fixing allegations. It is said that Pakistani team fixed the matches against Australia and New Zealand.

Pakistan, which had an upper hand in the league match against Australia, almost threw the match in the final overs, knocking India out of the tournament.

In the semifinal against New Zealand, Younus Khan dropped a sitter, offered by Grant Elliot, while Pakistan desperately needed a wicket at that point. Elliott was then batting on 42. He later went on to score an unbeaten 75 to take New Zealand into final.
