2011 Cricket World Cup Schedule unveiled, India meet Bangladesh in Opener

Mumbai: Breaking News! The 2011 World Cup schedule has been unveiled today. India will take on Bangladesh in Dhaka on February 19 in the opening tie. Defending champion Australia will start their World Cup campaign against minnows Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad on February 21. In total. 49 matches will be played in the 43-day mega tournament.

As expected earlier, Pakistan will be playing all its matches in Sri Lanka. India will host 29 matches over eight venues, while Sri Lanka will host 12 matches in three venues. Bangladesh will host 8 matches. Final will be held in Mumbai.

14 teams will take part in 2011 World Cup. They have been divided into two groups. Four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. There will be no Super 8 stage.

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya.
Group B: India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands.
