BCCI expels Services for one year for pulling our of Ranji Tie in Srinagar
Mumbai: Breaking News! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended the Services team for one year, after it pulled out of its first Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir in Srinagar. The issue will be taken up at the highest level of the PMO and Defence Ministry, sources said.
Service
s team was to play against Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy plate division. But they did not travel to the city. The BCCI may take further action against Services at its Working Committee meeting. Services team is controlled by the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB).The Services won't be allowed to play in any domestic tournaments organised by the BCCI. They will also not receive any match fees. Although no official word came from Services, it is believed that they pulled out due to security concerns.
Jammu & Kashmir has not hosted a single Ranji Trophy match since 2004. Meanwhile, the Haryana cricket team has confirmed about their participation in the Ranji Trophy game in Srinagar, which will begin on November 10.
