Congress MPs seek lifting of ban on Mohammad Azharuddin

New Delhi: Breaking News! A group of Congress MPs, including BCCI's Finance Committee Chairman Rajiv Shukla, Jitin Prasad and Raj Babbar met Union Minister and ICC Vice-President Sharad Pawar to seek the lifting of life ban on former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who is now a MP from Moradabad.

Mohammad Azharuddin is facing a life ban for his alleged involvement in match-fixing. The scandal had rocked the Indian cricket in 2000. Other cricketers such as Ajay Jadeja and Manoj Prabhakar were handed over a five-year ban, while Ajay Sharma was banned for life.

Rajiv Shukla also spoke to BCCI President Shashank Manohar in this regard. The BCCI's Annual General Meeting may take a final decision on this issue.
