Cyclone Phyan skips Mumbai, Alert in Goa & Gujarat withdrawn
Mumbai: Breaking News! In a huge relief for people of Mumbai, the 'Cyclone Phyan' passed off the Mumbai coast without causing any damage. After skipping Mumbai, Cyclone Phyan is heading towards North Maharashtra and South Gujarat. However, the Met department said that it has fizzled out there won't be any danger to residential areas.
There won't be any cyclonic storm in Maharashtra and Gujarat, but heavy rain predicted in Mumbai, parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat in the next 24 hours. People in Mumbai were advised to stay back at home after 5 PM.
Earlier, the BMC had ordered the closure of all government offices, schools and colleges in Mumbai and Thane by 2 PM. The cyclone is likely to hit the coast between Mumbai and Alibagh in 2 hours, although its impact will be very less.
