Encounter Specialist Daya Nayak gets Clean Chit
Mumbai: Breaking News! Encounter specialist Daya Nayak got a clean chit from the Director General of Police (DGP). Daya is set to return to police force after a long gap of nearly four years. Assistant Police Inspector Daya was suspended in 2005 and surrendered before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on February 20, 2006.
It was alleged that Daya Nayak had links with the underworld and amassed properties more than his earning. However, the DGP refused to give permission to the ACB to prosecute Daya in a disproportionate assets case. The DGP cleared him of all charges.
The then DGP SS Virk heard arguments from both sides and later rejected the ACB's charges, clearing Daya Nayak of all charges. He passed the order on October 30.
Daya Nayak is a 1995-batch police officer and is considered as one of the topmost encounter specialists in the country along with Pradeep Sharma, ACP Rajbeer Singh and Vijay Salaskar, who all died in different circumstances.
