Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind issues FATWA against Vande Mataram
New Delhi: The National Convention of the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind issued a "fatwa" against the National Song 'Vande Mataram', saying some of its lines were against the religious principles of Islam. The decision drew flak from major opposition party BJP. Ironically, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram was present at the convention.A resolution asking Muslims not to sing the National Song, was adopted at the National Convention of the Jamiat at Darul Uloom Deoband. Home Minister Chidambaram and some Hindu priests were also present at the convention.
Muslim clerics had argued that 'Vande Mataram' means 'Mother India, I bow to thee!' They said that it would be against the principles of Islam to bow before somebody other than Allah. Moulana Muizuddin of the Jamiat said, "We are Indians and will remain so forever without singing Vande Mataram.

The nation comes before everything else. Those opposing and showing dishounour for vande madaram should be punished with maximum force of the law. It is against the constitution of the country. India is a secular country but it should not be allowed to dishonour the nation.
allah comes first then our beloved prophet (peace be upon him)and after that comes other things of world.we are muslims first then we are indians, russians or chinese.it is the allah who has created this earth and made it capable for living.
allah is the lord of this world and most powerful.
Shadow secularism is vote bank politics of most of the parties including congress. The govt. should show some sincerity towards the nation and should condemn such incidents of dishonouring "Vande Mataram".
Country doesn't come first , first to us comes Allah , who created everything that exists , then the countries were given name by humans , and partitioned by humans , we cannot bow to something created , we are muslim , so it is our faith which is more important and since Vande Mataram means , bowing to land , it is like an idol worship hence blasphemous , no country has power over Allah , Allah blesses rthe country so we praise Allah first and then comes everything else , learn to respect your creator cuz you are just created and will be returned to him , for muslims i say be strong in faith of your creator , have you forgotten the fire of Hell ? or do you think you are more power than Allah is ? and you won't be judged for your arrogance ? have you forgotten your death ? your resurrection ? or you just praise so called muslims who run the bollywood other than Allah ? oh muslims you have made idols now and you worship those idols more than your creator , this is shame to mankind , a darkness indeed , blinded of the light , don't forget oh you so called muslims , don't forget Allah and his promises , don't ignore his Quran for it will not be his magesty that will be in loss , it will be you , your soul , Allah says in the Quran " if all of you go astray and worship idols besides me my kingdom wont lose the weight of an atom and if all of you worship me, my kingdom wont gain weight of an atom" so muslims do you know that means , Allah doesn't need your worship rather you need him , for you will dwell in hell if you go Against his laws decreed, This is not a funny joke this is Truth , this world has blinded you , Satan has taken you over , oh muslims wake up !
can anyone prove the existence of god..allah....or some any other entity which created the world? But we don't need to prove the existence of the nation. Who the hell r u bowing before? You better bow before the nation. Vande Mataram.
It is the time to unite the nation against external and internal threats. Issuing fatwa agains any national symbol will not solve the terrorism which is clearly muslim oriented. Instead it will add fire to the current spree of the terrorists(Muslims, any dout?). Neither Hindu nor the Muslims or follower of any other religion has any right to do such foolish things like dishonouring the nation and its symbols. If can not respect the nation then you should not live in the nation. You have no right to live here, it doesn't matter whether you follow Islam or any other religion.
we all respect the religious emotions of muslims but i fail to understand that the fact it is after around 5 decades later that someone is raising the issue of vande mataram....i am proud to say i am an indian.. religion matters but not to an extend that it reigns over our respect for the country we live in.
By respecting the country which gives all rights to live, follow your religion, and support you when needed... the reason why Vande Mataram has the wording which says "mother india" signifies the respect to our country by considering it as our mother... Do you bow in front of your mother as sign of respect and does allah or prophet stop you from respecting your mother... does quran say that do not bow in front of your mother (i really dont know). we bow in front of our elder, parents or for that matter anyone else because we see god in the them. god is silent force you cannot see but people are is the evident force respect, love, care for people around you and you are one step closer to god... everybody in this world has some flaws but also has some thing good in him ... respect the person for the good thing in him . bowing , respecting loving all these does not make you a Kafir(if i spelt it right).... Never pray for the sake of fear but for the sake of respect... if you really respect your religion abide by simple life truths.... respect others, do not raise hatred in your heart, do not hurt anyone purposefully, never fail/be shy to apologize(when required to). help the needy ...
Islam has a wide understanding of human life and how a true muslim should lead his life but again when religion becomes the handy work of some people to enforce laws or fatwas then it no longer is religion it becomes politics...religion should be a way of righteous living....when people start dictating laws then it looses its sanctity ....
I am Sikh, but I agree that God, Allah, Waheguru (diff names of same soul) comes first than any nationality. The reason being, when you are born, 1st you are human, 2nd when you are in the mothers wound, she has a religion, which she passes on to the child before the child steps on to the land of any nation.
Even Sikhs dont bow their heads before anyone other than the God himself. This national anthem should definitely be changed to respect other religions if India call itself secular nation.
just for the kind knowledge of my Hindu friends, you guys still singing "saare jahan se acha", which was writte by a muslim poet, and who left India after partition and lived in Pakistan. There were other lines which that great poet wrote "mudaten gujari is watan ko shan-e watan kehane main, ab to sharam si aati hai isko watan kehane main". Why dont you guys know about this thing.......
ALL OF THE INDIAN POPULATION THAT MIGRATES TO USA/UK/CANADA CHANGES ITS NATIONALITY FIRST, JUST TO TRAVEL SAFE ON THESE COUNTRIES PASSPORT. BUT ONLY FEW CHANGES THEIR RELIGIONS (mostly Hindus change themselves to Christians), you wont see SIKHS, OR MUSLIMS adopting other religions, as they are happy with what the god gave them.

to counter the comments posted by my sikh brother , i admire the resolve of sikhs they have succeeded in all that they have taken up ...i agree to you brother with regards to hindus changing religion to islm, Christianity and i have personlly seen some of my friends change religion. but my personal point of view with regards to it is if a person who cannot find freedom, peace in such liberal religion like Hinduism, then how can they find peace in another religion....their mind will always wavier and never truly be muslim or christian...
coming to the point of people leaving the country the highest number of people who move out of the country is muslims and sikhs....i am shocked to see that we all are fighting over a petty issue .... religion reigning over our love for our country men.... don't love the country but love the country men.... does quran say hate others ... you were talking about the the national anthem... being written by a Muslim poet ... i never realized that it was written poet because i remember only him as a Indian who wrote the poem... he was basically an Indian who later became a Pakistani but we respect the love he had for the country that's why we still sing the national anthem in spite of it is being written by a now Pakistani....we claim that we are a secular nation because we are a nation having a national anthem written by a muslim poet who is a pakistani today... it does not matter we respect the patriotism he (Muhammad Iqbal) had in his heart when he wrote the poem. we stick to our true beliefs and not change it as and when we feel like .... I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN... no religion or no country is lesser in strength or in any way inferior we all follow the similar rule even be it for our conception of god, the rules to abide... but these have been corrupted by people themselves ... Jesus, Allah, guru nanak , or for that matter any of the Hindu Vedas have never said to hate anyone... it has just said that god is one divine force to guide you to live a righteous life.... religion says fear doing any wrong deeds...

As our sikh friend mentioned that sikh and muslim need not to change his religion as they are happy with same. Then why a haapy person are thinking like this, why happy person like u got tension upon religion. First u must think what u have done so far for ur country.

After all these years, why are these guys bringing up this issue on bowing down before a nation..after all its not in the literal sense..even so, a little humility is good. even if it is in front of somebody other than the so called ALLAH..Im hoping that some day the whole world will unite without all these religious barriers..hope people have the sense to realize the purpose of religion and its origins..
I want to say some things to the anonymous user & all Indians. If you have so much problem in bowing to the nation, why can't you quit and go to the nations which do not bow to their nations. May be following your relious will not only keep your mind in peace but also you will feel at home. After all, this is not your home(thats what you think, not that I say.)
You have objection to the bow to the nation who have given you your freedom to speak(thats why you speaking today).Given you a job, hopefully u were fed in this country from birth.Bowing to your country is not failing to your "Allah". Its the respect you give to where you belong(again, if you really think you belong here).
I am ashamed that the country who is expecting one of the most promising future is having citizens who has problem in praising her. There is a kahawaat in hindi,"Jis thaali pe khaatein hai, wahi pe ched karte hai kuch log." And mind it, just for a few people like you, muslims are looked down. Its not the religion that is wrong, it's people's interpretation that is wrong.

Guys,come on everyone knows that religion comes far lower in this race. I am not saying too that country is on the top but its sheer stupidity if we compare these. Religion is a waste that is given to us from our parents. We dont need it.
I have lot of hindu, muslim, christain and Sikh friends and i never care what religion they belong to. As long as they are human, its more than enough. Humanity is the biggest thing and this is what makes us "human".
Love for country obviously has a better place as it is my motherland. I am an Indian irrespective of my religion and i am not proud nor ashamed of my religion. I believe in humanity and my country, and will do what ever it takes to make it a better place to live. People fighting over religion in this century is a pathetic display of mentality. I wish all could grow up.

Every time anyone salutes to a national flag, it is a sort of submission out of respect. So what next, people wont salute to the national flag?

Please dont bow to India, but then please leave India. You are not welcomed. And neither we are forcing you to stay here. Just leave and let us live our lives happily. You muslims have no work but create new nuisances every day. Dont you have work? if u think your work here on earth is to go to masjid & create new fatwas everyday then be our guest.No probelem, just leave our country. create your own country & follow those rules there. I believe one point u will come begging for food back to India, and if not india them some other country for sure.

Only to sing a national anthem is not enough to be a patriot or nationalist one must have to understand the feeling and respect to the other religion.I have no Idea about the other reliogion's believe in nationality but Islam says one must be loyal with their nation, wherever they live (it is not mention that u must be in islamic country).Muslims whether sing a national anthem or not they always respect their nation, it is my perception.Who u r are to ask me to show ur loyal identity with this country.what u have done so far to contribute this nation to be unite,to respectfull, progressive.this is my question to theose individual who have a question mark on the muslim identity on nationalism.All the indian Great politician is being assasinated by ur community(a true believer of this nation),all the great scam is performed by nationalist like u.No or rare contribution of muslim in rapes and bribe.many more things i have to say....
bowing to earth is prohibited in hindiusm itself, read vedas then see what the truth is......
