Kanpur Test: India win Toss, Elect to bat first

Kanpur: Breaking News! India won the toss and elected to bat first in the second test match against Sri Lanka at Green Park, Kanpur. Kanpur wicket may take turn early and the team batting second will have a tough task in hand. Dhoni won a good toss, but the Indian batsmen need to negotiate the morning dew factor and face the Sri Lankan bowling attack with patience.

India made two changes to the playing XI. S Sreesanth made a comeback to test cricket after a long gap. He replaced out-of-form Ishant Sharma. Pragyan Ojha is making his test debut today. He replaced ineffective spinner Amit Mishra.

Sri Lanka brought in Ajantha Mendis and went into the Kanpur test witt three spinners - Muralitharan, Herath and Mendis. India were 12/0 in 3 overs when reports last came in.


Team India: Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, and Pragyan Ojha.

Sri Lanka: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Tharanga Paranavitana, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Angelo Mathews, Prasanna Jayawardene, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chanaka Welegedara, Rangana Herath, and Ajantha Mendis.
