However, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who signed the parole document, said there was nothing wrong the law took its own course.
Manu Sharma, who was found guilty of murdering Jessica Lal in 1999, was sentenced to life by the Supreme Court in 2006. His lawyer Ram Jethmalani and the Delhi government ensured that he got a two-month parole to look after his "ageing" mother.
Although everyone followed the procedure of law, people were taken aback, when Manu Sharma was spotted at a nightclub and his mother addressed a press conference to promote a cricket match. It's obvious that she was not ill. It can be noted that Manu Sharma's father Vinod Sharma is a senior Congress leader and is a MLA in Haryana State Assembly.
