Sachin hits 175, but India lose to Australia by 3 Runs in 5th ODI

Hyderabad: Breaking News! Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who set so many records today, failed to see his team through. His dismissal in the death overs, disturbed the balance and India lost the 5th ODI in Hyderabad by just 3 runs. Sachin made 175 off 141 balls. Australian players fought till the end and prevailed over a spirited run chase by India. In total, 697 runs were scored in today's match.

Chasing a victory target of 351, India started well, when Sehwag and Sachin added 66 runs for the first wicket. Sehwag made 38. Gambhir, Yuvraj and Dhoni failed the with the bat, but Sachin and Raina added 137 runs for the 5th wicket. Raina made 59 off 59 balls. He hit 3 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Shane Watson yet again showed his all-round abilities by claiming the wickets of Raina and Harbhajan in a single over. However, India still held the edge till the beginning of 48th over. Sachin misjudged a shot and got out off the bowling of Clint McKay on the first ball of 48th over. He made 175 off 141 balls with 19 boundaries and 4 sixes.

After Sachin Tendulkar's departure, Ravindra Jadeja played poor cricket and was run out out 23 off 17 balls. Nehra did not survive for long. Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel tried hard to reach the target, but they fell short by 3 runs. India bowled out for 347 in 49.4 overs.

For Australia, Clint McKay and Shane Watson 3 wickets each. Sachin Tendulkar was declared "Man of the Match". Australia now leads the seven-match series 3-2.
