Tibetan Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama arrives in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh

Tawang: Breaking News! The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama arrived in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh amid tight security. Thousands of people lined up on the roads to give rousing welcome to the Dalai Lama. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu was present at the helipad during Dalai Lama's arrival.

In a clear snub to China, people of Arunachal Pradesh waved Indian flags and even chanted 'Jai Hind' today. They not only greeted the Dalai Lama, but also reposed faith on Indian democracy and governance.

The Buddhist monks in Arunachal Pradesh put up welcome arches and Mandala paintings on the road to welcome their spiritual leader. Dalai Lama would lead a three-day prayer session for some 30,000 followers in Tawang.

Hundreds of followers of the Dalai Lama from Nepal and Bhutan have already arrived in Tawang to meet the Dalai Lama.

The 74-year-old Dalai Lama will be staying in 300-year- old Tawang Monastery for the next three days. Tawang is situated at a height of 10,000 feet. After a failed uprising in Tibet in 1959, the Dalai Lama had arrived in Tawang and then took asylum in India.
