A Tribute to Fearless Journalist Prabhash Joshi

New Delhi: While questions are being raised on the ethics and moral values of Journalists these days in the age of digital media, Prabhash Joshi always held the values of Journalism and PRESS high. The fearless journalist, who died at the age of 72 yesterday, was dedicated to ethics, transparency and fearless contribution.

Prabhash Joshi complained of chest pain at 11:30 PM on Thursday night. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Prabhash Joshi started his journalism career with 'Nai Duniya'. He was the founder-editor of the leading daily, 'Jansatta', which belongs to the Indian Express Group. Joshi's body was taken by a chartered plane to Indore. He will be cremated at his native place Badwaha Saturday afternoon.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee, I&B Minister Ambika Soni, leading media professionals, writers and intellectuals have condoled the death of Prabhash Joshi, who gave a new direction to journalism and showed light to thousands.

"Prabhash Joshi was a man who, combined great erudition with a common touch. He was equally at ease interacting with readers as he was in a literary gathering or a political gathering. He worked with and inspired three generations of journalists", said Shekhar Gupta, the Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Express Group.

I can not salute the person who denigrated Savarkar saying that Savarkar wanted the dvision of India so that he could rule India.He ran a virulent campaign against Hindu organisation without saying anything against Muslim communalists. He even compared Sonia Gandhi with Mahatama Gandhi and Jai Prakash Narain as she forsake the Prime Ministership.At the last stage of his life he spread poison against Hindu Organisations. He was not an impartial journalist as he played in the hands of Muslim communalists
