Dhaula Kuan rape accused Ajeet Singh Katiyar gets 14 years Jail Term
New Delhi: Breaking News! Ajeet Singh Katiyar, the lone accused in the four-year-old Dhaula Kuan gangrape case, was sentenced to 14 years in jail on charges of abduction and gangrape of a 20-year-old Delhi University student who hails from Mizoram. The incident took place in 2005, when Katiyar was a driver of a call centre cab.
Katiyar and three of his accomplices reportedly gangraped the DU student. They abducted her at around 2.15 AM on May 8, 2005 near Dhaula Kuan, while she was walking back along with a friend after buying some food from a shop.
The victim was kept at a gun point for hours and she was raped in a moving Santro car near Dhaula Kuan in South Delhi. She was later dumped near a Gurudwara. The three other accused - Danda, Jat and Tappe are still absconding. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on Ajeet Singh Katiyar.
