Mohali T20: Sri Lanka set a victory target of 207 for India

Mohali: Breaking News! Indian fielders dropped six easy catches to give Sri Lanka an edge in the second and final T20 game in Mohali. Even as Indian bowlers bounced back in the middle, Sri Lanka still manged to score in excess of 200. Sri Lanka set a victory target of 207 for India to win the match and level the series. Sri Lanka had won the first T20 match in Nagpur by 29 runs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. India made three changes, by bringing in Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja and Sudeep Tyagi in place of Rohit Sharma, Ashok Dinda and Pragyan Ojha. Ishant Sharma removed Dilshan early, but Sangakkara and Jaysuriya batted superbly, by adding 81 runs for the second wicket.

Sri Lanka finished at 206/7 in 20 overs. Sangakkara was the top scorer for Sri Lanka. He made 59 off 31 balls. Jayasuriya made 31. Chinthaka Jayasinghe too scored 38, while Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 26. For India, Yuvraj took 3 wickets, while Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 207, India were 38/0 in 4 overs, when reports last came in. Sehwag was batting on 23.
