Sri Lanka beat India by 29 runs in Nagpur T20

Nagpur: Breaking News! Sri Lanka beat India by 29 runs in the first match of Twenty20 series in Nagpur to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Sri Lanka proved to be better in each department of the game and maintained the stronghold over the game from the very beginning.
Kumar Sangakkara was declared "Man of the Match" for his 78.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. Sri Lanka batsmen scored runs with ease after some initial trouble. They made 215/5 in 20 overs. Sangakkara was the top scorer with 78, while Kapugedera made 47.

Chasing a victory target of 216, India started well, but lost Sehwag after he scored 26 off 14 balls. Gambhir and Dhoni added 61 runs for the second wicket and it looked like India would hit the target, but Sri Lankan cricketers showed great bowling and fielding skills to claim four wickets and put India on back foot.

India finished at 186/9 in 20 overs and lost by 29 runs. Gautam Gambhir was the top scorer with 55. Sehwag and Raina contributed 26 and 21 respectively. Ashish Nehra scored 22 off 13 balls. For Sri Lanka, Angelo Mathews and Sanath Jayasuriya took 2 wickets each.
