Yuvraj Singh helps India win Mohali T20, level Series 1-1

Mohali: Breaking News! It was a perfect birthday bash for Yuvraj Singh, who steered India to a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the second T20 game in Mohali. The T20 series between India and Sri Lanka ended 1-1. Yuvraj not only took 3 wickets, but also played a superb knock of 60 off 25 balls to see India through.

He received full support from Sehwag and Dhoni. It was the highest-ever successful run chase by any team in T20 cricket.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Cashing on sloppy fielding by Indian players, they made 206/7 in 20 overs. Sangakkara was top scorer with 59, while Jayasinghe and Jaysuriya contributed 38 and 31 respectively. Fro India, Yuvraj Singh took 3 wickets, while Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 207, Indian openers started well, thanks to drop catches and sloppy fielding by Sri Lankans. They added 58 runs for the first wicket. Gambhir made 21. Sehwag and Dhoni added 50 runs for the second wicket. Sehwag made 64 off 36 balls with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes.

After Sehwag's departure, Yuvraj Singh came to the crease and demolished the Sri Lankan bowling attack further. He and Dhoni added 80 runs for the third wicket. Dhoni was out for 46.

Yuvraj batted till end and scripted India's biggest-ever T20 victory with a solid six. He remained unbeaten on 60 off 25 balls with 3 boundaries and 5 sixes. India made 211/4 in 19.1 overs.

It was the highest-ever run chase by any team in T20 international matches. Yuvraj Singh was Declared "Man of the Match". He also received the "Maximum Sixes" award. Kumara Sangakkara was declared "Man of the Series".
