By Himanshu Guru: Women are more likely than men to make decisions based on how choices will impact others. In short, women are more moral than men – claims a new study.

Professor Roger Steare, who designates himself to be a ‘Corporate Philosopher’, has provided the answer to one of the reasons of fight to the never-ending scuffle between men and women. He conducted a study which he terms a “Moral DNA test” and awarded higher scores to female than male.

“Moral DNA test,” is the experiment by the Professor which he developed four years ago to measure changes in people’s value systems.

Around 60,000 volunteers across 200 countries from a diversity of jobs and social status were quizzed to provide their response about honesty and competency which eventually decides the percentage of morality in a human being.

The respondents were asked about their work and family lives, to provide their comments cum judgments on whether those around them would consider them honest.

The study team then categorized the respondents to six types such as philosopher; judge; angel; teacher; enforcer; or guardian on the basis of their answers.

The study found that while Women prefer to make their decisions based on how it impacts others, men responded with statements having with more individual approach.

The study claimed that age is also a factor responsible to make a moral decision. It finds that human being reaches to the peak of his intellectual and moral powers at the age of 60.

The “corporate philosopher”, is happens to be the advisor to HSBC, PwC. The findings of the study are available at www.moraldna.org .
