Mumbai: Om Puri is still there, when Bollywood needs him. He may not give a hit movie, but yes, he will never let you down. 'The Hangman' may not be termed a complete movie for the mass, but it won't leave you stranded in the cinema hall, if you are not looking for glamour, masala and romance.

'The Hangman' is starred by Shreyas Talpade, Gulshan Grover and Om Puri. While Om Puri and Shreyas Talpade did full justice to their respective roles, script of 'The Hangman' was not so strong to survive the competition, when films like '3 Idiots' and 'Veer' are still rocking at the box office.

Om Puri, who dreams of a better and secure life for his son, Shreyas Talpade, struggles throughout the film, after sending his son to the city to study. Om Puri is a hangman by profession, but he expects that things will be better for his son. Did that happen?

The son ended up committing a crime, although inadvertently. A father's dream shattered and his integrity and principles are put on a trial. He needs to hang his son. So, anything missing here? Yes, a lot. The movie lost its focus towards the end. And, while coming out of the cinema hall, you will just have one thing in mind - Om Puri.
