Mumbai: Breaking News! On an eventful day, which witnessed the grand release of 'My Name Is Khan' (MNIK) across the country amid protests and tight security arrangements, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) thanked all his fans and promised that he would make India proud with his hard work.

Shah Rukh received overwhelming support from Maharashtra Government, Centre, Political parties, Bollywood and common people over his stand-off with Shiv Sena. He did not buckle under pressure and refused to apologise to Bal Thackeray.

"As the film releases & reports pour in praising Karan's work, I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has gone to see the film. Only regret our own city Mumbai is still to see it in full flow. I just want to tell everyone that I feel more patriotic than ever before" writes SRK on social networking site, Twitter.

"I love India & Indians. I love Mumbai & Mumbaikers & once again reiterate I sincerely from the bottom of heart regret having hurt so many. Today I feel I will stand by with even more strength for all that stands for being Indian & my country", he further added.

"And once again my fellow countrymen, if anything I have said wittingly or unwittingly to have disturbed any sentiments....in my work or words, I wholeheartedly regret...and I love u very very very very much. thank u thank u thank u".

"I thank u all for this..apologise for giving stress over the last few days...& now truly know the meaning of being humbled.lov u all so much. I am humbled by this show of love & kindness. So dont know wot else to say. Overwhelmed & promise will make india proud with my hard work", said SRK.

"I realise today...I am just a film hero...u all in the theatres r the real deal. god feel so loved & humbled. hats off to all heroes. I promise will only make wonderful films from now on forever. All the ones that missed the mark & didnt please u...ooops...sorry again" wrote an emotional Shah Rukh.

"Am I gushing too much & regretting too often.well let me. It's the first time I am fan..of my audience. a huge hug. u all r rockstars. Will u all give me ur autographs and pose for pictures with me...will keep it in my heart forever. my name is fan...& i am not a star..u r.

Even Hritik Roshan asked people to watch MNIK. He wrote on Twitter, "Spread humanity with a vengeance, GO WATCH MY NAME IS KHAN. ..and for the record, my name is HRITHIK ROSHAN".

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi too wrote on Twitter, "Everyone should support SRK and his tremendous contribution to humanity and all of us. I just love what he is and what he stands for".

SRK said he did nothing wrong, by supporting Pakistani players over the IPL snub. While Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal protested against the movie in Mumbai, Delhi, Rajkot, Gujarat, Jabalpur, Bhubaneswar and many parts of Maharashtra, 'My Name Is Khan' is running house full in many cities.

Mumbai witnessed a limited release of 'My Name Is Khan', but it is expected that it will have a full release in the weekend. Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan, Home Minister RR Patil and Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam watched the movie at INOX, Mumbai to boost confidence among the people.

Finally the Bully meets the Bigger Bully

Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Mumbai by Train was a slap on the face of the Shiv Sena and they offered the other cheek to Mumbaikars who slapped them even harder and released the film MNIK and dared the Sena to stop them.

Mumbai does not belong to the Shiv Sena and their uneducated unemployed goons who have spoiled the image of Maharashtra to the world. I could not help but laugh at Sanjay Raut’s statement on one side of the screen of a news channel claiming that the protest was successful while on the same screen their goons were shown being beaten and thrashed and pulled up like plucked chickens while people entered the cinema halls to watch MNIK.

History has shown that Mumbai has and can never progress under the leader ship of the Shiv Sena and their unemployed goons. They are communal to the core .Show me one single Shiv Sainik who is academically qualified to lead Maharashtra. Shiv Sena is full of double standards and have no ideologies.

• While they want SRK to apologize and coolly ignore Amitabh who was sharing centre stage with Pakistani Poets. Mr Manohar Joshi – are you listening?
• Bal Thackeray at one time was against the Gandhi’s for their dynastic rule while to day the ShivSena is following the footsteps of Gandhi by handing over reins to Udhav and he in turn is preparing his son to take over.
• They promote Marathi while they send their children to English Medium School.

While Manohar Joshi went on air to say what SRK said was wrong and he should apologize to Bal Thackeray or we will not let the movie be released. This man was at one time the CM of Maharashtra. Can Maharashtra progress under such a person? What happened Mr Manohar Joshi ? Neither did SRK apologize nor could you stop the screening. It is a shame that the Thackeray’s instigated their followers to damage national property and hurt innocent people while their leaders sat at home like silent spectators watching their goons being beaten up. What is the difference between the Shiv Sena and the Terrorists? Terrorists create havoc internationally and the Shiv Sainiks create havoc in Maharashta terrorizing innocent people. Who is Bal Thackeray and why should SRK apologize to him. The Mumbaikars do not want SRK to apologize and have infact come out in full support and burnt effigies of Bal Thakeray outside cinema halls. Mahatma Gandhi led the movement from the front and ended up being imprisoned many times while the Thakerays have never even seen the insides of a jail but I must add here that besides the Thackeray’s all other Shivsainik’s keep visiting the jail often as if a second home.
I must also add that the Mumbai Police have done a commendable job under the leadership of Mr R R Patil . The CM Mr Ashok Chavan faced the situation like a true Mumbaikar. I am not happy that the 2 persons who on camera – one who threatened to burn SRK and Mr Raut who threatened the CM have not been arrested. I am also not happy that the judiciary is silent on the happenings. The judiciary should make Shiv Sena pay for all the damage that they have caused to property.
I am also not happy at the electronic media for they have not played the role of a catalyst and have infact fanned the fire between the state govt and the Shiv Sena by carrying statements from one party to another and literally bad mouthed the Maharashtra Police.

Religion divides a country. Let us pledge to be Indian first.
