New Delhi: Mumbai Indians registered their second successive victory in DLF IPL 2010, as they thrashed the Delhi Daredevils by 98 runs. Sehwag failed with the bat, while Gambhir could not bat due to an injury on the field.

The Mumbai Indians outclassed the Daredevils in every department of the game today. Mumbai Indians had set a victory target of 219 for Delhi Daredevils. Sachin Tendulkar was the top scorer with 63 off 32 balls. Saurabh Tiwary made 61 off 37 balls.

Rayudu contributed 34 off 21 balls. For Daredevils, Farveez Maharoof and Sarabjit Ladda took 2 wickets each.

Before they could chase a huge total of 218, Daredevils received a jolt, as their skipper and opener Gautam Gambhir could not bat due to an injury he suffered during fielding. Sehwag and Dilshan did not last either.

The Delhi Daredevils bowled out for 120 in 16.3 overs. Gambhir did not bat. Farveez Maharoof was the top scorer with 28, while Sehwag made 26. For Mumbai Indians, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh and Sanath Jayasuriya took 2 wickets each.

Sachin Tendulkar was declared ‘Man of the Match’. It was Delhi Daredevils' first loss in three IPL matches this season. Mumbai Indians have now won 2/2. It is not immediately whether Gambhir would be playing in the next match or not.

Earlier, Graeme Smith (Rajasthan Royals), Dmitri Mascarenhas (Rajasthan Royals) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings) suffered injuries during the IPL 3. Smith and Mascarenhas were ruled of the tournament, while Dhoni won't be playing for 10 days.
